PresSTORE P4 runs on Mac OS X, Linux, Windows and Solaris. Archiware also offers specialist modules that are optimised for specific storage scenarios:
• Do I need new keys for P4.1 and where can I get them?
– When upgrading from PresSTORE 3, you will need new license keys. Customers that are eligible for an upgrade can get new license keys through the Archiware portal.
– If you are already using P4 and want to update to version 4.1, you will not need any new keys.
• What are the system requirements for P4?
PresSTORE Server:
– Mac OS X: PPC OSX 10.4+, Intel 10.4+
– Windows: 2003, 2008, XP, Vista, Windows 7
Note: Backup2Go not supported
– Linux: Kernel 2.6.4+ (x86) 32bit or 64bit with 32bit libs

• What preparations should be made before performing an upgrade?
– Please check if you are meeting all system requirements for version 4.1.
– Make sure you need none of the features no longer supported in version 4.1.
– Please make sure that you have all the required license keys.
– As a precautionary measure, make sure to copy PresSTORE’s installation index before running the upgrade.
• What features will NOT be available in version 4.1 anymore?
The following features will NOT be available in version 4.1 anymore:
– Archive, Restore und Download BASKET
– Indexing the archive without a prefix in the file structure
– Email reporting of job protocols per plan
– Starting backup jobs sequentially is now supported anymore
• What PresSTORE versions can I directly upgrade to version 4.1?
Only PresSTORE’s 3.x and 4.x versions can be upgraded directly to 4.1. Older versions should be done it step by step, e.g. from version 2 to 3 and then to version 4.1.
• Will all my settings stay the same when upgrading?
Yes, all the settings will be kept when switching to the new version.
